Note from the author: Although many homebuilders offer to be the "lowest price", "builder of the year", "Carpenter of the Universe" and so on , we make no such statements...we are however not the most expensive nor are we the cheapest...Building materials as well as labor has skyrocketed in the last few years but we remain determined to build the most structually advanced house in the business. I worked my way up from laborer to carpenter apprentice, then after a few years I mastered the art of carpentry, then after a few more years I moved up to superintendent...After a few more years of making my boss very rich, I started my own Home Building company. After many years of working with literally thousands of craftsman, I tried to learn from each and every one of them...everyone I came in contact with each had their own method. Over the years I've enjoyed learning and growing to become, what I hope to be, The worlds greatest homebuilder. Although I do not claim to be the "best" or "cheapest" I can say however that I will build each and every home as if it were mine, and the Lord Jesus, my roomate! Striving to build a perfect home is costly, so don't expect us to be the low bidder, because we are not. The team here at HoustomHomeBuilding.com is comprised of engineers, builders, designers and carpenters from all walks of life. We take into consideration things that a normal builder would never think of....for instance; soil stabilization, piers of concrete or steel, helical piers or bell bottom, what type of insulation, low E glass or argon, 2x6 or 2x4, where does the sun set, which way does the breeze blow, if there is a tornado where is the safe room, etc etc etc....although there are many variables into making a home, most are technical decisions that are entrusted to your builder, things that would produce a finished product that looks good, feels good, but deep down it is a "knock off" of what you thought you were buying.Let me tell you a short story;A wealthy oil tycoon wanted a home built...He contacted a local home builder.He gave the builder a set of plans that had costs him thousands of dollars. The plans had every detail you could imagine. He told the Builder that he had to go to Europe for about a year and hoped the new home would be ready when he got back.The builder started construction. Well, the owner wasn't around so he figured he could "cut a few corners"..he used the cheapest fill dirt, watered down concrete, hardly any steel in the slab, the footers weren't any deeper than a table spoon, the walls were covered with tar paper instead of plywood, the stucco was so thin you could practically see through it, so on and so forth, the unscrupulous builder step by step built a house that APPEARED to be real swell but really was only a mirage of what the Oil tycoon expected.Well, to make a long story short...the Oil tycoon came back from Europe and arranged to meet the builder out at the new home. They walked around a bit and the builder was telling the oil tycoon how great everything was and so on....The oil tycoon thanked him and handed the builder the keys and told him, "I had This house built for you"
